THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Lead Design OT Technology as part of the Studies and Engineering Team, this role will play a key role in providing technical Leadership and governance and ensuring delivery support for control systems and operational technology projects across the Pilgangoora operations accordance with all compliance requirements.

This is a permanent full-time role based at our beautiful West Perth office, near the City West train Station.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical leadership across control systems and OT projects, from concept through to commissioning.
  • Review and develop control philosophies, functional design specs, drawings, and FAT/SAT documentation to ensure high‑quality project delivery.
  • Support onsite commissioning, troubleshooting and shutdown activities, ensuring systems meet performance and safety standards.
  • Partner with engineering, operations and vendors to resolve technical issues and deliver integrated project outcomes.
  • Contribute to OT governance by maintaining standards, specifications and reviewing system modifications through the Management of Change process.
  • Drive continuous improvement by supporting plant optimisation, system upgrades and technology enhancements.

 

ABOUT YOU:

 

  • Experienced Control Systems Engineer with a background in mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Schneider Modicon, SEL RTAC) and SCADA platforms (Ignition, AVEVA).
  • Skilled in developing and reviewing control philosophies, functional specs and FAT/SAT documentation.
  • Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP and IEC 61850.
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate across engineering, operations and vendor teams.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail.
  • Willing to travel to site for shutdowns, commissioning and technical support as required.
