THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Lead Planner, the Planner supports the development, maintenance, and reporting of cost- and resource-loaded schedules across capital projects. The role works closely with project and contractor teams to track progress, maintain schedule quality and integrity, and support the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
This is a Fixed term full-time role based at our beautiful West Perth office, near the City West train station.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules — including IMS, end‑to‑end, shutdown, and contractor schedules — using Primavera P6.
- Apply Critical Path Method (CPM), schedule logic, baseline management and resequencing to support accurate project planning.
- Track, update and forecast schedule performance against baselines, providing progress measurement, trend analysis and scenario modelling.
- Review and validate contractor schedules, progress reporting, manning curves and planning data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Analyse scope changes, variations and schedule risks, recommending mitigation strategies to minimise delays and maintain delivery certainty.
- Prepare high‑quality schedule reports, dashboards, S‑curves and progress narratives for project leaders and key stakeholders.
- Support resource and commodity loading, manpower forecasting and integration of schedule information with cost control functions.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to drive schedule alignment and timely project execution.
- Assist with claims preparation, delay analysis and Extension of Time (EOT) assessments through accurate schedule records and forensic review.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting lessons learned, planning process optimisation and quality schedule data management.
- Participate in planning workshops, progress reviews, change management processes and tender/bid planning activities as required.
ABOUT YOU:
- 3–5 years’ experience in project planning and scheduling, ideally in mining or heavy industry.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 with strong understanding of CPM and project controls.
- Strong communication skills and confident producing clear reports and schedule insights.
- Highly organised, detail‑focused and able to meet reporting deadlines.
- Safety‑focused with a collaborative approach to working across project teams.
- White Card and valid C‑Class driver’s licence required; relevant tertiary qualifications desirable.
