The opportunity
Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Lead, this role will partner with department managers and hiring leads to deliver talent to deliver appropriately skilled and qualified people who are aligned to our values and purpose.
The Recruitment Advisor will support with sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates to determine suitability and proceed with ensuring all pre-employment checks are completed and satisfactory, along with issuing contracts of employment and initiating the onboarding process.
This role is also responsible for ensuring quality candidate care by providing a timely and professional experience for all candidates, regardless of the outcome of their application.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our West Perth office, conveniently located near the City West train station.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to identify recruitment needs and role requirements
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure all role data is accurate, including remuneration, incentives and entitlements, as well as payroll, facilities, learning & development and site administration to support with onboarding
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process. This includes:
- compile position descriptions
- raise approval to recruit requests
- draft and posting job advertising
- shortlist and screen applications,
- arrange and conduct interviews
- arrange all pre-employment checks, including medical appointments, qualification checks, reference checks and collating police clearances and working rights
- Represent and advocate for the business by positive communication and strong engagement with all stakeholders.
- Ensure company records, recruitment and onboarding systems and organisational charts are updated
- Support with other key projects such as new-to-industry, vacation or graduate programs
- Provide recruitment advice on best practice process and expected timelines.
- Liaise with external parties, such as recruitment agencies to support with contract labour hire or permanent placements
- Attend key promotional events, such as career fairs, as well as site visits to meet key people and understand the operation
- Raise purchase orders for services, such as medicals, contractors, or permanent placements, receipt and approve invoices
- Other general administrative work
About you
- Solid recruitment experience, ideally within the mining & resources sector.
- A people-person, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer service focus
- Strong experience in recruiting mining operational, mining technical or mining professional roles.
- An understanding of Australian employment legislation
- Exposure to remuneration and incentive structures and entitlements
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- A well organised individual with excellent time management skills and a good eye for detail
- Takes initiative to identify potential projects and opportunities.
- Understands the implementation of best practices hiring process and candidate care
