The opportunity
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Electrical Supervisor collaborates closely with Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and HSE teams to prioritise and execute work safely and efficiently. The role contributes to continuous improvement through reliability initiatives, root cause analysis, and consistent adherence to PLS values, standards and procedures. Note: an on-call requirement for Night Shift callout may apply in emergency cases.
This is a 12-month maximum term role which operates on a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities across the Mid-Stream plant, providing hands-on technical guidance to technicians and contractors.
- Ensure all E&I work is completed safely and in line with statutory, licensing and site requirements, including PTW, LOTO, HV switching and hazard controls.
- Drive plant reliability through fault-finding, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance across power, control and instrumentation systems.
- Support commissioning, plant start-ups, shutdowns and equipment changeovers to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations.
- Coordinate closely with operations, maintenance, engineering and contractors to prioritise work, manage specialist support and maintain high-quality execution.
- Maintain accurate records in PRONTO and INX, contribute to root cause analysis and implement improvements that enhance safety, compliance and asset performance.
About you
- WA A Grade Electrical Licence, Certificate IV in Instrumentation and HV Switching competency, with full Australian working rights and a current C Class driver’s licence.
- Proven supervisory experience supported by a strong electrical background in fixed plant, chemical refining or similarly high-risk industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience with DCS, SCADA and PLC interfaces, with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of HSE systems, statutory compliance, PTW, LOTO, isolations and risk management in mining or other high-hazard environments.
- A practical leader and clear communicator who can coach others, work across teams and contractors, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience with CMMS such as Pronto, plus exposure to commissioning, lithium processing or fine chemicals operations, will be highly regarded.
