THE OPPORTUNITY
We are now recruiting Entry Dump Truck Operators with an intake of up to 20 newly created roles at our Pilgangoora operation. No previous mining experience is required - just a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn!
These are genuine entry-level opportunities whereby you'll take part in a structured training program with ongoing support to help you succeed. We offer the full ‘PLS’ FIFO experience, including rostered swings, camp accommodation, and flights provided from Perth airport to site. You’ll be part of a supportive team where safety comes first, and where reliable, motivated people are given the chance to build a long-term career in mining.
These are permanent full-time positions commencing in March and April 2026, which will begin on a FIFO 8:6-day shift roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region, then later transition to an 8:6 7:7 (day & night shift) roster. All required training will be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain PLS’ value of Safety First at all times.
- Operate dump trucks in a safe, productive and cost-efficient manner to contribute to the success of the Mining Production department.
- Support all load and haul activities in the haulage of ore and waste by optimising haulage cycle times and ensuring that loads are dumped in the appropriate areas as specified.
- Follow standard work procedures for required tasks.
- Wear all personal protective equipment as required.
- Maintain expected standards of housekeeping in all work areas.
- Work as part of an effective team to ensure maximum haulage through planning and scheduling.
- Participate in all training and development opportunities to be able to competently fulfil your role.
- Demonstrate PLS values to drive a healthy workplace culture.
ABOUT YOU
- A current Australian C-class manual Driver’s Licence (HR or higher is preferable).
- A strong focus on safe work practices.
- Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts, including nights, in a remote FIFO environment.
- You enjoy being part of a collaborative team and you’re passionate about achieving goals together.

As part of our recruitment process, there are several checks which may be conducted including a National Police / criminal background check, medical, drug and alcohol testing, due diligence checks, right to work checks, and/or reference checks.
Please Note – for ‘new-to-industry’ positions, applicants may also be requested to attend an Assessment Centre event on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, for a morning or afternoon session, as well undertake safety-based psychometric testing.
