The opportunity
Reporting to the Area Manager – Midstream, this role will lead the development of high-quality technical documentation and knowledge-sharing outputs from the MSDP. This includes delivering structured reporting under external funding programs (including ARENA) and producing technoeconomic white papers that communicate plant performance, operational insights and commercial outcomes to a broad range of stakeholders. Working closely with operations, process engineering and project teams, you will transform complex datasets into clear, accurate and evidence-based technical narratives, ensuring all outputs meet the highest standards of technical integrity and compliance.
This is a 12-month role based at our West Perth office, conveniently located near the City West train station.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of technical reports, knowledge-sharing deliverables and publications arising from the MSDP
- Develop technoeconomic summaries and white papers, integrating process, performance and commercial data
- Ensure compliance with external reporting frameworks and funding agreement obligations (e.g. ARENA)
- Interrogate, validate and reconcile operational and process data for completeness, accuracy and consistency
- Translate complex technical information into structured, publication-quality narratives for technical, executive and external audiences
- Establish and maintain structured data, metadata and reporting frameworks to support traceability and repeatable reporting
- Prepare Executive Leadership Team and Board-level briefings and summaries
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across site operations, Chemicals and project teams
- Act as a central quality gate for technical accuracy, substantiation and consistency of reporting outputs
About you
You are a highly skilled technical writer with a strong process or engineering background, capable of working across disciplines to deliver structured, high-impact technical outputs.
You bring
- 5+ years’ experience in a technical, engineering or process environment
- Demonstrated excellence in technical writing, including reports, publications or white papers
- Strong capability to interpret, interrogate and synthesise process or operational data
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop consolidated technical outputs
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy and evidence-based reporting
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to technical, executive and external audiences
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Highly Regarded
- Experience delivering reports under ARENA or similar government funding programs
- Exposure to lithium chemicals, hydrometallurgy or process plant operations
- Experience contributing to or authoring technoeconomic studies or technical white papers
- Familiarity with data structuring, metadata frameworks or knowledge management systems
- Experience supporting commissioning or ramp-up of process plants
