THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting into the Medical Services Supervisor, the purpose of the Medic position is to provide high quality healthcare services to mine site personnel, including but not limited to emergency response, primary care, occupational health, and health promotion. The Medic will ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards, and work within their personal scope of practice as well as within the parameters of the Poisons Permit.
This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8:6, roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver Primary Healthcare and respond to onsite medical emergencies.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality.
- Maintain medical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for emergencies.
- Participate in Emergency Response Training and provide education to the Emergency Response Team.
- Support return to work programs and injury management plans.
- Promote Health and Wellbeing initiatives across site.
- Collaborate with the Health and Safety Team and site leadership team and stakeholders to promote a proactive health and safety culture.
- Communicate regularly with the onsite Physiotherapist and Injury Management Specialist.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor of Nursing or Paramedicine
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in acute care, emergency or remote nursing
- First Aid, CPR
- Advanced Life Support (ALS)
- Current National Police Clearance
- Class C Manual License
- Strong clinical decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
- Strong commitment to safety and the environment
