THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Processing Technical Services Superintendent, this role will provide operational guidance and technical support to the operations team and play a key role in metallurgical performance and improvement initiatives.
This is a permanent full-time role which operates on a day shift roster of 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the team.
- Provide technical guidance, training and coaching to Plant and Graduate Metallurgists
- Review and analyse past production performances, compare to budgeted and forecasted specifications and provide suggested improvement options
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Provide mentoring, training, and development opportunities to ensure team effectiveness, accountability, and professional growth.
- Identify plant improvement opportunities and develop project schedules to adequately evaluate and quantify benefits associated with improvement opportunities
- Carry out plant surveys and mass balance to maintain and improve plant performance
ABOUT YOU:
- Degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
- A holder of the statutory schedule 26 (S26) Certification is highly regarded
- Driver’s License (WA C-class or equivalent)
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in metallurgy or a related field
- Comprehensive working knowledge of mineral processing with heavy media separation
- You will have solid flotation and/or HMS experience i.e.: Nickel, Gold, Copper. Lithium experience advantageous
- You will be an advocate for process improvement, accuracy and ensuring proper safety procedures
