THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Permitting & Isolation Supervisor, this role will ensure the shutdown isolations and permitting process is adhered to and executed in a safe and efficient manner.

 

This is a permanent full-time role based at our Pilgangoora Operation which operates on a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure permits are prepared and remain compliant with our procedures throughout the permit to work and isolation process,
  • Confirm hazards and controls are clearly defined and signed off by an authorised representative
  • Design isolation plans to ensure plant equipment is intrinsically safe to work on
  • Prepare work permits and assign isolation lists specific to the scope of work
  • Liaise with maintenance department to ensure the isolation of equipment is undertaken safely
  • Competent in Permit to work system
    • Deliver Permit to Work Training
    • Support supervisors and apply isolation's as requested during planned and unplanned   situations to reduce production delays when limited authorised isolators available 
  • Assist with incident investigations as requested, utilising your expertise to identify improvements, provide recommendations and actions for remediation.
  • Shutdown representative and assistance for all permit related matters
  • Assist in Permit Supervisor in training, mentoring and coaching process operators on Permit To Work training and development of complex isolators.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Driver’s License
  • Confined Space

  • Experience in fixed operating plant or equipment in the mining industry
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID and engineering drawings to create isolation plans
  • Physical fitness to perform role and meet the physical demands required to respond in emergency or rescue situations
  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Proactive safety focus
  • Computer literacy in Projects, Excel, SharePoint/teams and Word
  • Experience in fixed operating plant or equipment in the mining industry
