The opportunity
Reporting to the Mine Technology Supervisor, the Mine Technology Technician will be a founding member of the recently established Pilgangoora Mine Technology Team.
PLS has big plans, and this team will be central to the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Operation Technology equipment used by the mining and processing teams.
This is a permanent full-time position that operates on a FIFO 8:6 roster from Perth
Key responsibilities
- Manage and ensure optimal operation and high availability of IT/OT technology infrastructure and devices.
- Provide first level support to fault find and repair the Minestar Fleet and Terrain and future Drill Fleet Management System including Servers, Client Software and on-board hardware.
- Administer, maintain, and support the DMR Radio system
- Program and configure Rajant Breadcrumbs to deliver mobility solutions across the operation.
- Inspect communications and electronic systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements as well as business needs.
- Configure and install the production and safety Video Monitoring System.
- Respond to service interruption (unplanned) requests as defined and agreed by response levels and priority.
- Escalate to Site Mine Technology Engineer and support Perth based teams in the resolution of connectivity and system-based incidents and related faults, ensuring fast service resolution.
- Participate in Root Causes Analysis process and documentation to identify actions to mitigate fault re-occurrence, and drive implementation of agreed actions.
- Follow PLS Technology methodologies including request, change and problem management.
- Ensure risk assessments are performance for area of responsibility, and associated risks are captured.
About you
- Certificate IV or Trade Qualifications in Auto Electrical, Radio Communications or Electronics or Diploma in a Technology; or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience supporting Operation Technology and assets in a 24/7 production environment.
- Experience supporting Tetra or Tier 3 DMR radio system.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including IP addresses, subnets and VLANs.
- Rajant or Wireless Mesh Network maintenance and support including trailer management.
- Experience with PTP and PTMP backhaul links.
- Experience with Fleet Management Systems, High Precision Machine Guidance and wireless network systems.
- Self-motivated and driven with a “can do” attitude, excellent problem and analytical solving skills and ability work as part of a team.
- Possession of a current Class C Manual Driver’s License.
- Understanding of Cyber Security and the application of risk mitigation strategies
- ACMA Open Cabling ticket with fibre, structural cabling and coax endorsements or the ability to obtain
