THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Area Manager, Infrastructure, this role will lead a team of cost control professionals across a portfolio of projects. A key focus of this role will be to provide leadership to the cost management team, liaising with the Area Manager and Delivery Leads to ensure best project controls practices are implemented and fit for purpose.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our beautiful West Perth office, near the City West train station.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively manage the Infrastructure cost control team ensuring regular liaison with the Area Manager Infrastructure and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent technical cost control and forecasting skills and the ability to contribute to the operation of the project
- Provide leadership in promoting, demonstrating and being a role model for company core values, whilst providing guidance and support to cost control in the delivery of their specific responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation of project cost management programmes that provide an accurate reflection of project performance at a project and programme level
- Ensuring that cost reports are delivered on time and within the guidelines of the project controls processes and procedures
- Developing project budgets in accordance with project estimate and cost breakdown structure (CBS)
- Issuing project change orders / variations in accordance with engineering and construction change notifications
- Management of scheduling / planning resources
- Understand the engineering scope of the assigned project(s) to ensure that it matches with the approved project WBS in accordance with the Coding Structure.
- Miscellaneous and ad-hoc Project Control related activities as required by the Area Manager Infrastructure
ABOUT YOU:
- Relevant degree in Business or Engineering or demonstrable industry experience
- Demonstrate financial and commercial awareness
- Significant experience in cost control, ideally within the mining, resources or construction project industry, along with experience at a senior level or in a leadership role.
- Solid technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to see tasks through to completion
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Pronto ERP is highly regarded
- Able to prioritise workload amongst competing demands
