The opportunity
Responsible for short term mine schedule, mine designs, production plans and production reporting in support of the Company’s open pit mine and production activity including
- Open pit mine designs including waste dumps, haul roads and ROM stockpiles.
- Generation of the 36Hr mine plan, 2 weekly mine schedules,
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly mine production reports.
- Review and manage weekly conformance to plan.
- Chair daily meetings
- Assist in cost benefit analysis on continuous improvement projects.
- Liaising with Production Scheduler, Mining Supervisor, D&B Engineer, Mine Surveyor, Mine Geologists and Pit Technicians.
Key responsibilities

Mining Production
- Develop the daily, and 2 weekly mine plan and schedules.
- Generate daily reports.
- Generate work instructions for daily / weekly development projects.
- Liaise with Geology on dig directions.
- Facilitate daily production meetings and weekly planning meetings.

Mine Planning and Supporting Operations
- Liaising with the Mining Production team, Mine Geologists, Mine Surveyor and Pit Technicians.
- Enter production data into the mine production database and validate the data.
- Follow the mine planning procedures and system for the mining operation.
- Collaboration with Drill and Blast on blastmaster development and reviews.
- Generate daily, weekly and month end reports.
- Report the drilled, blasted stocks and mine production and ore delivery daily in a timely manner.
- Ensure any mine designs and mining schedules are peer reviewed by the Senior Mining Engineer.
- Undertake Mining software training and grade control management as required to maintain competency.
- Conduct all Mining Engineering activity within the mining lease areas safely and to achieve regulatory compliance.
- Exhibit a proactive safety culture to prevent harm to personnel and company assets, undertake safe mining work practices and undergo mandatory safety training as required.
- Assist with managing expenses within approved guidelines and limits and within budget.
- Recommend and assist with best investment recommendations regarding open pit mining methods, mine scheduling, mine planning and mine design activity.

- Contribute to the mine planning and environmental impact to sustain life of mine and the responsible management of the mine resource.
- Comply with all environmental regulations.
- Contribute to activities that ensure compliance with environmental management to extend life of mine.
- Complete regulatory on-site courses
About you
- Degree in Mining Engineer / Open Pit Mining Certification or similar experience in a related position.
- WA C class driver’s license.
- 2-3 yrs. experience in a similar role in a Mining Engineering team.
- Proficient in using mine planning and design software, particularly Alastri, Vulcan and or Surpac.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software with proficiency in spread sheets.
- Basic proficiency in mine scheduling and associated software.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate to achieve results.
