The opportunity

Reporting to the Site Services Manager, the Facilities and Mobilisation Superintendent is responsible for the strategic leadership, integration, and performance of village operations, facilities management, administration, and workforce mobilisation at Pilgangoora Operations. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of site services, enabling operational success and a high-quality workforce experience.

Through strong leadership, contract management, and cross-functional collaboration, the Superintendent drives continuous improvement, service excellence, and compliance across all facilities and mobilisation activities while aligning service delivery with broader site operational objectives.

This is a permanent full-time role which operates on a 8:6, 4:3 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Key responsibilities

Leadership & Accountability

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for Facilities, Village Operations, Administration, and Mobilisation functions across Pilgangoora Operations.
  • Lead and develop Supervisors ensuring alignment to operational priorities and standards.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Ensure clear accountability structures and team capability across all site services functions.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a safety-first culture.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Have, or be prepared to obtain, S26 Statutory Supervisor qualifications
  • Oversee audits, risk management, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure safe systems of work across all activities.
  • Drive field leadership activities within team and contractors

Village Operations and Facilities Management

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of village services including catering, cleaning, accommodation, retail, and lifestyle services.
  • Ensure contractor performance meets agreed scope of work, service standards, and KPI expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in village operations and workforce experience.
  • Key operational stakeholder and interface for facilities maintenance, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.

Mobilisation, People Logistics, and Workforce Planning

  • Oversee all site mobilisation and travel logistics including flights, buses, and accommodation allocation.
  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective workforce movement.
  • Align mobilisation planning with production and shutdown schedules.
  • Implement improvements to people logistics systems and processes.

Administration and Systems Governance

  • Provide governance over site administration systems, data integrity, and compliance processes.
  • Ensure accuracy in workforce data, onboarding, and reporting systems.
  • Drive standardisation and optimisation of administrative processes.
  • Oversee audits and reporting frameworks.

Contractor Management

  • Manage performance of service providers across village services and transport logistics.
  • In partnership with corporate teams such as Contracts & Procurement, establish contract management frameworks including meeting cadences, reporting, audits, KPI monitoring and performance reviews.
  • Ensure cost control and value delivery across contracts.

Operational Planning, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop operational plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Implement reporting systems covering KPIs, service delivery, and costs.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across site services.
  • Ensure integration with site operational objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Service Delivery

  • Build strong relationships with operations, corporate, projects, contractors, and leadership teams.
  • Act as escalation point for services and mobilisation issues.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration.

Financial Management & Cost Control

  • Own budget accountability for the Facilities and Mobilisation function
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Monitor expenditure against targets

About you

  • Current C class driver’s license.
  • High efficiency using the full Microsoft Office suite
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience leading large teams in complex operational environments
  • Experience managing major village services / facilities management contracts either as client or contractor
  • Facilities asset management experience
  • Understanding of workforce logistics challenges in a remote mining operational environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
