The opportunity

Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor, this role will be part of an established maintenance crew of various disciplines and is responsible for maintaining fixed plant electrical and instrument equipment in line with standard work procedures to ensure the safe and reliable production of all fixed plant equipment.

This is a permanent full-time role which operates on an 8:6 day shift, 7:7 night shift FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Key responsibilities

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Trade‑qualified Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
  • Strong fault‑finding skills on electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Experience with PLCs, VSDs, MCCs, and motor control circuits
  • Calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instruments (pressure, flow, level, temp, analysers, density’s)
  • Knowledge of control systems (e.g. Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Yokogawa, Honeywell – as applicable)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, loop diagrams, schematics, and cable schedules
  • Experience with preventive and breakdown maintenance in an operational plant

Safety & Compliance

  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to procedures
  • High‑risk licences (HV switching, isolations, confined space, working at heights, etc.)
  • Good understanding of permits, isolations, and lock‑out/tag‑out
  • Compliance with Australian Standards and site electrical rules

Work Ethic & Attitude

  • Self‑motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Good time management and prioritisation during breakdowns
  • Willingness to learn site‑specific systems and processes
  • Takes ownership of equipment reliability and workmanship

Team & Communication

  • Works well within a maintenance team
  • Clear communication with supervisors, operators, and planners
  • Able to provide accurate handovers and job feedback
  • Contributes to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

About you

  • WA ‘A’ Grade Electrical licence, Cert IV Electrical Instrumentation & High Voltage switching ticket essential.
  • Current WA Driver’s licence.
  • Current EWP ticket, as well as CPR & LV Rescue.
  • Previous fixed processing plant experience essential.
  • Show a high level of attention to detail, quality, and commitment for continuous improvement.
  • A team player with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • PRONTO experience and MS Office skills highly regarded.
  • Willingness to undertake a full site medical and provide a current National Police Clearance.
